Service Manager - Lesiure / Light Commercial Marine Engineering (Volvo Penta) Company
A busy South Coast Marine Engineering firm seeks a Service Manager. Based centrally on the South Coast in the heart of the Solent, this busy Marine Engineering firm is closing in on 50 years in the trade. As a registered service centre for Volvo Penta the business operates across the leisure and small craft commercial sector, carrying out servicing, repair, refit and repower on inboard engines and drive systems.
The Role:
The Service Manager will be tasked with the day to day running of the Engineering Department and management of a small engineering team.
Responsibilities include:
·The day to day running of the Service Department
·Estimating work for customers
·Ensuring excellent customer service is provided via an accurate booking process
·Scheduling works with Engineers
·Co-ordination of the engineering team both in house and on field visits
·Ensuring the invoicing process is completed and checking payments are received
·Liaising with other team members and ensuring priorities are communicated
·Checking and inspecting work prior to hand over.
·Dealing with customer complaints
·Ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times
·Developing staff and recruiting when required
·Following Health and Safety guidelines
·Complying with Company's ISO 9001:2015 Internal Management System
The Person:
As an individual you should have previous experience working within a marine engineering management position. You should exhibit strong technical knowledge but also be able to deal directly with customers in a friendly and approachable manner and sort out customers problems. Of real interest would be experience with Volvo Penta products.
Key Requirements:
·Previous recent experience of working in a Marine Service environment
·Higher level technical qualification. (HND, BTEC or equivalent)
·Excellent interpersonal skills and provide great customer service
·Ability to organise and schedule work and deal with different priorities on an ongoing basis
Hours of work
8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
One Saturday morning in three 9am to 12pm
On call hours occasionally required

Remuneration
Salary - generous depending on experience
