A Naval Architect versed in the world of regulation and compliance is required to join one of the UKs leading production yachtbuilders, based in the South West.
Following an extensive period of growth that has seen this iconic British brand almost double in size, the list of new projects is getting bigger and additional resource across design and engineering is required.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all craft designed, updated and customised by the brand up to are in keeping with the various international regulations. Duties will include:
- Liaison with the various regulators and classification societies
- Amendment of designs to ensure compliance aligned with ongoing updates
- Ensuring updates are passed to the wider design and engineering teams to ensure full compliance
- Daily oversight of all class-specific works with critical review
- Ensuring KPIs are met cross department in relation to compliance.
As an individual you will be an experienced naval architect, having ideally worked within a production yachtbuilder. With a minimum 5 years spent working to standards such as RCD and CE, you will be able to cast a critical eye across all designs and perform updates as and where necessary for resubmission. Leading from this however, you will be able to negotiate with the various external bodies to ensure designs are passed and to define new design methods to achieve your desired goal.
