Technical Account Manager - Marine Product Manufacturer.
We have an exciting vacancy for a driven, motivated and reliable technical marine professional working for a well established UK OEM manufacturer.
Having a technical understanding of the marine industry is key, but a passion to work hard and deliver results is paramount.
In this key role you will be the interface between design and customers.
This is an exciting role, to develop a career in a technical account manager position within a busy and world renowned UK business. The role will be varied, fast paced and require excellent attention to detail.
Some national and international travel may be required from time to time including support at Boat Shows and exhibitions
Essential
Have the technical ability and interpersonal skills to be the conduit between design and customers.
Listen to customers to understand what products are required in the market.
Present findings to colleagues in strategic and design meetings.
Ability to work with Heads of Design.
Technical ability and aptitude to be involved in design work from conception right the way through design and manufacturing to taking the product to market - you will be the product champion.
Sound understanding of all Microsoft office applications.
Confident telephone manner.
A positive can do attitude and a desire to work towards team goals.
Ability to prioritise time effectively and work under own initiative.
Experienced with some form of database system is preferable but not essential (AXAPTA, Sales Force, Xeries).
An understanding of marine products is preferential, as is general knowledge of the marine industry.
Practical understanding of power and sail vessels and the parts on them is also advantageous.
Willingness to adapt and work on several different jobs within the office, in both a business and practical sense.
Ability to work autonomously on the one hand; but equally as part of a collaborative team
Ideal background
You will be a graduate in a technical or engineering related degree with up to five years post graduate experience, ideally gained within the marine industry in a manufacturing / production environment.
You will have a passion for the marine industry and a background in sailing / boating.
You will be hungry, measured, ambitious and have the ability to work alone as well as in a collaborative team.
