This is a great opportunity for a yacht operations manager with strong technical experience and background to join one of the world's leading yacht charter companies. We are looking for an experienced, yachts technical manager. Key accountability in this role will be to oversee the technical elements of the region, people leadership, customer service, process efficiency, health and safety, and financial management functions of the bases within the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the region, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations, whilst ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and in accordance with all local regulations and company operating procedures.

Yacht Operations
•Ensure strict adherence to the company's standard operating procedures' for both charter and resort operations.
•Ensuring the correct maintenance and readiness of all yachts for charter including all onboard systems, rigging, inventory and hull structures per company policy and procedures. This includes management of routine and preventable maintenance.
•Ensuring commissioning/phase-in and phase-out procedures are adhered to according to company policies and owner's boats have maintained the highest standard upon their acceptance of the boat after phase-out.
•Follow strict brand delivery guidelines of our yacht charter brands The Mooring's and Sunsail.
•Run and report on customer feedback (CSQs) and agree actions with the VP of Ops on action plans of continuous improvement.
•Ensure health and safety standards are strictly adhered in line with company policy following our Safety Management System and Incident Management Plan processes.
•Ensure compliance with local authorities on all required yacht license and compliance regulations, Trade license requirements, food service and health requirements.
•Ensure local compliance with the appropriate authorities on all elements of employment laws and compliance with the Labour Code
•Champion best practices to ensure leadership in the protection of the environment and agree and initiate programs agreed by the business.
•Liaise and negotiate with external contractors as needed.
•Be on call 24/7 for any emergency
•Ensuring overall cleanliness and tidiness of all bases and properties
•Maintain the property preventative maintenance program within agreed budgets.
•Manage agreed property refurbishment and new build projects.
•Represent our business at necessary external meetings (Marine Association)
•Maintain strong local relationships with all Government bodies.

People
•Maintain an efficient and cost-effective team structure
•Lead and motivate staff, holding regular meetings
•Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict,
improve team performance and recognize good performance.
•Ensure SMART objectives and reviews are completed on time.
•Partner with HR to monitor and manage staff performance using the company performance review guidelines, dealing with issues as required
•Partner with HR to maintain accurate employee records e.g. absence, pay etc.
•Recruit, interview and organise the training of staff.
•Ensure all required employee/freelance staff administration is completed.
•Ensuring a friendly and helpful attitude is maintained among base personnel and ensures the same is provided to all customers and business partners.

Financial
•Partner with the Finance Manager
•Agree and monitor annual cost and capex budgets.
•Review and comment on monthly p&l expenses and assist in reforecasting.
•Drive local and ancillary review to meet budgets.
•Drive Third Party Revenue.
•Review local partner revenues and returns.
•Review and comment on monthly p&l expenses
•Agree, and, maintain necessary stock levels for all elements of the business.
•Check, confirm and approve invoices within control agreements.
•Approve and control all purchasing requirements.
•Negotiate and agree third party contracts and monitor performance against agreed service levels
•Control damages and losses and record accordingly against the register.
•Ensure compliance with company financial processes and procedures, taking remedial action to address any issues.

Knowledge & Education, Experience
•Strong proven technical experience in a yachting position, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and rigging understanding
•Strong operations management experience in the yachting industry
•Strong Collaboration skills
•Good technical skills and understanding on board yachts
•Ability to utilize computer software programs such as Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, reservation systems and/or internet based data centers.
•Strong understanding of budgeting
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
•Good writing skills
•Leadership/Managerial experience
•Experience preparing financial reports and records.
•Excellent Customer Service experience
