Looking to increase their design team, this exciting brand are looking for an individual with strong experience within the small craft industry to lead project based design and manage the design of their semi-custom and custom orders.

As an individual you will be capable and experience in leading project-based design with both internal and external design teams, clients and producing technical design for new builds. Being a senior member of the design team, reporting directly to the Design Manager, your role will entail mentoring, support and leading the more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
3D Production models and drawings for the in-house design team, subcontract, tooling and composite and fabrication facilities.
Producing original design content in the development of the craft from mechanical mechanisms to working with the in-house interior & exterior styling team.
Be involved with and lead the new development projects including new equipment, materials, systems & designs.
Work closely with the shop floor to optimise production and development with the design team
Create & maintain BOMs for each project
As a desirable but not essential additional task; carry out structural calculations to ensure suitability of design for purpose particularly for fabricated items with composite structural engineering, both in terms of initial structural analysis and production engineering.

Key Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years' experience within design and engineering in the marine industry, ideally within the luxury small craft market
Degree qualified
Proficient in 2D & 3D design
Strong business acumen and proficient in Microsoft packages
Good interpersonal skills to collaborate, lead and mentor internal and external teams

As an individual you will be a confident leader, showing clear leadership and a strong understanding of the market. In terms of software, you will be capable with Rhino, Solidworks and Autocad and also be a much organised individual.
