Job role - Slinger & machinery operative/ Yard hand.
Location – Southampton
Role type – Full time permanent
Salary £23,000 - £32,000 – With quite a reasonable amount of overtime available and if you want to work weekends you are paid time and a half for the first 4 hours and double time for the remaining 3 hours.
The ideal candidate for this role would have had experience working in a marine environment for example a Port or a Marina but we are very open to candidates with good hands-on experience and willing to learn!
Tickets we would be very desirable are.
Slingers/banksman/signaller - Would be preferable to have.
Forklift - Reach or Counterbalance
Powerboat level 2 - Helpful but not required.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role will be..
Lifting and machinery duties
Slinging and banking – You will be moving a large range of heavy equipment around a marine yard.
Operating forklifts moving heavy materials around the site and in and out the workshop.
Boating duties
Using a small workboat within the waterways – PB2 ticket needed if you do not have this but you have experience driving boats you can be put through a PB2 as well as commercial endorsements.
Hands on duties
Operating power tools – High powered drills and saws – Rebuilding and stripping down duties.
Using a high-powered jet washer jet washing down marine equipment
General hands-on duties moving equipment around the yard.
