Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for boat building?

We have an exciting opportunity for you as a Project Manager to join a small (motor) craft business on the south coast.

An integral part of the business, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing boat builds from sale, production and to client handover. You will also be a face of the business, working closely with clients and representing the company at yacht and boat shows at home and abroad when necessary.

This is a broad oversight role where you will wear many hats and have vision of the whole process, ensuring exceptional quality, timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall successful delivery of the project to the client with responsibilities that include:

Pre-Contract
  • Pre-contract specification, ensuring bill of materials and hours budget are in place.
  • Management of all stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of all project.
  • Managing the delivery of information to production and suppliers
  • Involvement in pre-sale meetings and visits from potential clients.
  • Cultivating and maintaining the supplier relationship
Build stages
  • Managing the delivery of complex procurement / sub-contractors
  • Managing delivery timescale
  • Progress reports
  • Ensuring the supply of correct information (including correct order details, drawings, 3D models)
  • Managing client visits
Handover
  • Managing the final inspections and client sea trails
  • Inspections and quality sign-off
  • Manage stage payments
  • Answering any requests from the client
 
The Project Manager will require the following skills and experience:
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced, detail-orientated environment, prioritising numerous work channels
  • Experienced in a client-facing role, working with high-net-worth individuals
  • Experienced in boat handling/operation, ideally small motorboat or tender operation
  • A manufacturing or design based background would be of benefit
