A Composites Engineer position has arisen with a leading Devon-based boatbuilder

Following an incredible period of growth that is showing no signs of abating, this industry powerhouse has an order list that stretches well into 2021. With a staff in excess of 3,000 manufacturing their craft solely here in the UK, the organisation aim to keep much of their engineering in-house, including composites manufacturing.

Composite boatbuilding has long proved a challenging market and is highly competitive, so this role is a key post within the organisation. Reporting into the Composites Manager and Head of Naval Architecture, your role will include the following duties:

- Ongoing research and testing around new composite layup methods and new materials
- Liaising across design, engineering and production on matters of classification, cost and feasibility
- Work with design to review ways in which to evolve manufacturing process or design for better performance
- Attend regular meetings to share research and reports into composite matters
