Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Performance Marine Applications
Are you a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a keen interest in high performance yachting systems?
In a world where seconds count, weight is hugely important and many tonnes of load are put though the smallest of mechanical items, there are few brands that take on the engineering challenges associated with high end yacht racing and cruising. Those that do are masters of the design and engineering of mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems and can make the difference between the front and the back of the racing field.
Our customer is one of a handful with experience in the field of sail handling systems and, with a top pedigree in high end systems, has build a great reputation for reliable and world class products, with a client list that reads as a who's who of the top racing craft.
As part of the brands expansion within the market, they now seek an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design, engineering, and testing of systems destined for the race circuit. Duties for this challenging role will include:
- Working with the client and business owner to discuss, design and engineer a range of sail handling and winch systems
- Use of a host of tools create detailed 3D models and test using FEA software
- Close working with a manufacturing team to fabricate, test and potentially re-engineer a host of systems for optimum usage
- Constantly staying abreast of industry developments, finding new products and coming up with new ideas that will keep your employer one step ahead of the rest.
As an individual you will currently be employed within a high performance industry such as motorsport, marine or aerospace. With a passion for pushing boundaries and chasing bigger and bigger engineering challenges, you will be a perfectionist, an innovator and someone who challenges others in order to produce the best product possibly. Working as part of a small team you'll use both your own ability and also bounce off that of others, being capable of owning projects from start to finish.
In turn you'll operate in the confidence that you're at the forefront of marine technology and be working with one of the best engineering teams in the world.
On offer will be a salary of £50-60,000 but with potential to grow and evolve in the future.
