Senior Design Engineer

An opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to a join a leading company who design and manufacture a range of boating products!

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components

• Collaborating with the various departments to develop solutions, manage projects and coordinate with external vendors and partners

• Mentor and train junior members of the team

• Continuously improve design processes to ensure efficiency and quality

• Travel when required, including outside of the UK

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar

• Ideally you will have 7+ years of experience in a mechanical design/product development environment

• Expertise in CAD software ideally Creo or similar package, and FEA tools

• Strong understand of mechanical principles, like material selection, stress analysis and kinematics

• Experience with design for manufacturability and assembly

• Hands-on approach and ability to build and test prototypes and solutions

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Ideally an interest or passion for the marine industry, like powerboating or sailing
