The is a great opportunity to join the PR communications team for one of the top names in Sailing as Sports & Purpose Communications officer, with a focus on supporting the team over an exciting racing circuit. the role is permanent, full time and will involve regular international travel. The company are looking for someone who is a strong strategic thinking, able to work collaboratively with a team in a very busy, fast paced environment. A passion to succeed, excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task are essential! 

Key Role Responsibilities: 
  • Management of effective communications strategies across earned and owned media that significantly raise awareness.
  • Deliver a communications plan, working with the key departments including the social, digital and content teams.
  • Support the commercial and partnerships teams in communicating around the league’s partnerships. Developing creative PR activation and communication plans to drive value to the partnerships
  • Drive the overall media relations efforts, fostering relationships with consumer and trade media, creative storytelling and placing year-round coverage in key titles.
  • Support strategic media plan in coordination with local marketing and communications agencies to deliver national and international coverage and service media requests.
  • Support influencer strategy 
  • Deliver communications plan for the promotion of sustainability projects
  • Write, edit and distribute press releases, event recaps, media materials, messaging, website copy, award entries, briefing documents and other communications for internal and external use
  • Provide speaker platform for key team members and partners
  • Manage global media monitoring, analysis and reporting against department KPIs.
  • Carrying out such other duties as are reasonably assigned to you from time to time by your Line Manager
  • Carrying out media, administration, office and other activities as prescribed by line manager, which may include television interviews, press conferences, prize-giving, official functions, corporate hospitality both ashore and afloat, public appearances and any other speaking engagements or appearances.
