We are working with one of the Big Names in Sailing to recuit a Control Systems Engineer.

This role will have responsibility for the design and implementation of control systems destined for race yachts and test platforms, from high level flight control laws to low level control loops for electro-hydraulics. Working with a dedicated team of control systems engineers and within the Performance group, the successful candidate will need to assist the team in meeting project requirements and help deliver a highly capable and robust set of control systems.

Required Skills:
  • Strong academic background with relevant degree. 
  • Proven background of model-based design (e.g., Simulink) including code-generation to real-time target systems. 
  • Comfortable taking part or advising on aspects of the control system development focussing on implementation, test development, debugging & support. 
  • Equipped with classical and/or modern control theory skills with demonstrable experience of such systems succeeding in real-world applications. 
  • Able to apply core engineering principles to multi-domain challenges (e.g., across electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems). 
  • Ability to work under pressure. 
 Awareness of sailing yachts, especially hydro-foiling racing yachts would be a bonus.
