CAD Technician - Marine Civils

In short – our client is an exciting start-up gaining quick traction with some major clients. Who strive to bring a ‘new-era’ to Maritime Civil Consultancy. They have a lot of interesting projects including major Port Clients like ABP and Peel Ports, as well as River Thames commercial and residential property development schemes and even a concept tidal range energy scheme.

As a new part of the company, the CAD Technician will develop this department, building it as the company grows. Setting out standards and developing drawings using AutoCAD for use in planning, reports, and construction documents on Civil, Port, Maritime, and Infrastructure Engineering projects.

This position is also open to those who are coming from outside of the marine industry, Highways, Bridges, Construction and other Civil sectors. These sectors have transferable skills and are encouraged to apply if you are interested in turning your hand to exciting marine projects.  

You will..
  • Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations. You will be working on projects such as marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls and coastal structures, beaches, revetments, breakwaters and jetties as well as other maritime civil engineering projects.
  • You will be required to organise drawing packages for client meetings/tenders.
  • Coordinate the CAD and BIM projects.
  • Have ownership over drawing sets.
  • Develop CAD standards within the company.
  • Assist project managers to deliver project work.
You have…
  • A Civil Engineering Degree (or similar)
  • 3 years plus experience.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and other software, Revit is advantageous.
  • Understanding and application of CAD standards.
  • Understanding of construction and experience with Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in RC detailing would be an advantage.
  • An interest in working on maritime projects
